Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Linkedin Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has decided to crack down on bike riders who don’t wear a helmet while driving the motorbikes. The traffic police of the capital city said that from this day (11-10-2017) ITP would not only fine riders who don’t wear a helmet but will also fine the bike rider if pillion rider isn’t wearing a helmet as well. According to the Police official Rs. 100 fine will be imposed on those who don’t abide by the law. The decision was taken after a month-long awareness campaign regarding the dangerous effects of not wearing a helmet was initiated by the authorities which ended on 10-10-2017. In the campaign, about 300 helmets were also distributed among the general public. Traffic police also held an awareness rally where around 500 citizens participated with their motorcycles.
